The PDFM 5.1 Portable Doppler Flowmeter is a portable flow meter used for measuring flow inside a pipe without the need of external pipe modification. The ultrasonic Doppler technology used by the PDFM 5.1 makes it particularly suitable especially for dirty or viscous fluids containing bubbles or solid particles, such as wastewater, sludge, chemicals, sticky liquids, and slurries.
The PDFM 5.1 is excellent for evaluating system performance and can be installed, calibrated, and set up within a few minutes. This device can be used in cases where a flow meter is not needed permanently or when it needs to temporarily replace the main device. Thanks to its quick and easy operation, the sensor can be installed on the outer part of the pipe in less than a minute, and the settings can be adjusted using the internal keypad and calibration menu, making the device ready for operation.
The PDFM 5.1 has an internal battery that can work throughout the day and be charged during the night. For continuous use, it can be powered by a 110-240V AC power adapter or placed in sleep mode. In this mode, the device only becomes active during the specified time, which helps extend the battery life. The device also features a data logger with a capacity of 300,000 units.
The user can select the display units, and the total flow values will be shown on the device in gallons, liters, cubic feet, or cubic meters. When switching from one measurement system to another, the PDFM 5.1 calculates and converts the total and accumulated flow automatically and quickly. The pipe size should be entered using the keypad as the internal parameter for the inner diameter.
The 4-20 mA output embedded in the device allows you to utilize the PDFM 5.1 Portable Doppler Flowmeter in various important applications.
